Slack Facial Muscles

What causes slack facial muscles?

Your face has lots of muscles, most of them working in an upward direction. When you were younger, these muscles all had tone and bulk but over time the connective supporting tissue (the elastin and collagen fibres of our skin) can become slack so that your skin loses tone, density, and elasticity. This usually happens after 35 causing the skin to sag.

At the start of the ageing process, you'll feel the loosening in your cheeks with facial lines becoming very noticeable. Wrinkles from sleeping take a long time to disappear and when you look in the mirror, you notice your skin has no glow and resilience.

But age is not the only factor. The process can speed up with too much sunlight, hormonal alterations such as menopause, smoking, body weight changes, gravity and tissue oxidation.

Thankfully the experts at your local salon providing Totalcare treatments are there to help counteract these effects.

The experts recommend:

VitalO2
VitaLift sends a tiny electric current to the facial muscles and this gently stimulates and strengthens them, firming the skin and enhancing blood flow for a healthier look and invigorating the treated area. Vitalift will work on the complete face to tone the muscles and lift and reshape the oval of your face. Or you can choose to work on a specific part of your face (eyes, lips, chin etc.). VitaLift will also make sure that your muscles will warm up and cool down properly because this is, after all, a muscular workout and it’s important to avoid discomfort and the production of painful lactic acid.
