What causes fluid retention and facial puffiness?

Lymph is blood plasma after it has carried its nutrients into the body's tissues, dropped them off for the cells, picked up the waste products and re-entered our water reclamation plant, called the lymph system. It is filtered and detoxified in a series of nodes before it empties back into the heart where it once again becomes blood plasma.

Try to drink 2 litres of water every day.

Try to keep to a regular sleep pattern.
